APPOINTMENT OF INTERIM CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER, JERRY MAI
SAN JOSE, CA (December 16, 2025) – Silicon Valley PRIDE is pleased to announce the appointment of Jerry Mai as Interim Chief Executive Officer, effective January 1, 2026. Jerry will serve in this role while the organization conducts a nationwide search for its next permanent Chief Executive Officer.
Jerry brings more than a decade of professional experience serving the LGBTQIA+ community. He joined the Silicon Valley PRIDE Board of Directors in 2021 as Chief Logistics Officer, where he led significant operational growth, expanded the festival footprint, strengthened community engagement efforts, and launched the organization’s first-ever 5K Pride Run. In 2024, Jerry was appointed Chief Operations Officer, further solidifying his leadership role within the organization.
Prior to his tenure at Silicon Valley PRIDE, Jerry served as Steering Committee Co-Chair for the Human Rights Campaign, the nation’s largest LGBTQIA+ advocacy organization. In that role, he lobbied in Washington, D.C. and contributed to national efforts supporting the Marriage Equality Act and the Employment Non-Discrimination Act.
Outgoing Chief Executive Officer Nicole A. Denson expressed strong confidence in Jerry’s leadership, stating, “Jerry is the right person to move this organization forward, and I have no doubt he will always be there for the LGBTQIA+ community.”
Jerry shared his vision during his acceptance speech at the organization’s annual Winter Ball, emphasizing collaboration and transparency. “I have an open-door policy, and I promise to bring transparency to the LGBTQ+ community,” Jerry said. “With our community under attack and federal DEI cutbacks, it is more important than ever that we stand together. I invite the community to collaborate with me on how we can do just that.”
